  1. Hi,

My name is Todd and I’m with Dell’s online outreach program. In fact, I am one of the techs that normally sits in the Dell coffee shop on the Dell island in SL. I wanted to let you know that you don’t necessarily have to have the video cards on SL’s recommendation list. I use an older Dell Latitude D610 with integrated video to connect to SL to handle my job duties online. It’s not the best, obviously, but it’s not horrible either.

I think most newer notebook systems with integrated graphics will handle Second Life pretty well. Just try to remember to upgrade the memory in the system since integrated video uses normal system memory instead of a dedicated graphics card.

Dell also has a 21-day return policy on systems so if you try one and it doesn’t handle SL the way you’d like you can always return it.

If you have any questions feel free to email me at Customer_Advocate@Dell.com. Please linclude my first name, Todd, in the subject line of the message so it can quickly be routed through to me and I’ll be glad to help you in any way that I can.

    Thank you,

    Todd
