{"id":435,"date":"2008-06-20T17:20:28","date_gmt":"2008-06-20T22:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fleeep.net\/blog\/?p=435"},"modified":"2008-06-20T17:20:28","modified_gmt":"2008-06-20T22:20:28","slug":"suns-wonderland-education-grid-demo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.fleeptuque.com\/blog\/2008\/06\/suns-wonderland-education-grid-demo\/","title":{"rendered":"Sun&#8217;s Wonderland &#038; Education Grid Demo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dashing off a quick post:<\/p>\n<p>Today the <a href=\"http:\/\/mediagrid.org\/news\/2008-06_Education_Grid.html\">Media Grid Immersive Education Initiative<\/a> launched the <a href=\"http:\/\/theeducationgrid.org\/\">Education Grid<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/lg3d-wonderland.dev.java.net\/\">Sun&#8217;s Wonderland<\/a> platform.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Walsh from Media Grid launched the initiative from within <a href=\"http:\/\/secondlife.com\">Second Life<\/a> and the island quickly filled up with many more avatars waiting to get in to join the demonstration.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3189\/2595650965_a1f782c046.jpg?v=0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are already six nodes on the grid and we got to pop around between them and check out the various applications and builds already in place.  What follows are some screen shots, the tools are still pretty primitive, but the audio\/voice worked pretty seamlessly and we saw a demonstration of live application sharing, video streaming, and more.  What fun!
